August 2026 Update
ALL DISTRICT READS
When my third grader brought home a book and a nightly reading assignment, I recognized the program — my older son had done it years ago.
That night, I read aloud. He was completely absorbed. Then my adult daughter and granddaughter wandered in and sat down too.
But the moment I’ll never forget: my 10th grader, who’d gone to his room to play video games, was standing in the hallway — listening. I waved him over. He joined us.
Now we read together every night. Four generations, gathered around one story.
“A book did what I never expected a book could do. It brought my family together.”

LITERACY IMPROVES LIVES
All District Reads reinvented itself in 2026 to serve as a literacy partner with school divisions across the USA and local Rotary clubs. In this role, ADR helps school systems identify local Rotary clubs whose interests, resources, and capacity align with the district’s literacy needs.
ADR provides proven models of community engagement centered around one book, drawing on successful programs implemented in school systems across the United States.
We call these communities “Literacy Gold” communities — places where schools, families, and community organizations come together to create a lasting culture of reading.
THE ROTARY PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITY
A CALL TO ACTION
Rotary clubs are increasingly taking a leadership role in bringing the All District Reads Family Literacy Program to their local school systems.
As community partners, Rotary clubs help support the district-wide initiative in two key ways:
Prize Boxes: Providing each elementary school with a Rotary prize box for daily trivia activities — creating excitement and encouraging student participation.
Volunteers: Helping distribute books when the program launches across the entire school division, making the initiative a true community-wide celebration of reading.
