A dinosaur egg hatches in Freedom, New Hampshire in the 1950’s! Do you believe it? Well, don’t, but this fantastic story makes you think of how the country might have reacted to such an occurrence. 

Twelve-year old Nate’s daily chores include taking care of the chickens. When one of his hens hatches an enormous egg, life gets very hectic. Folks arrive from all over the country with all sorts of wild ideas for the hatchling’s future.  Named Uncle Beasley, the triceratops keeps getting bigger and bigger making it difficult for the family to keep him. When the family and scientists realize they need to move Uncle Beasley to the nation’s capital, things get even more challenging.
