Community Champions

Book Labeling

Book labeling events provide a hands on service project for your group.  You can commit to a single hour or several hours.

NETWORKING

Through networking activities (which can also be labeling events), organizations that serve as Community Champions can recruit new members.  The events can also connect All District Reads with those interested in supporting local literacy.

BOOK DISTRIBUTION

Community Champions have the opportunity to distribute books to schools they adopt.

Community Champions Role

The Community Champion is a Civic group or faith-based organization that connects the community, schools district, and All District Reads through volunteers and support in the community.

  1. The Community Champion plans book labeling events. At these events, volunteers place labels in all of the books used for the program.
  2. The Community Champion participates in distributing the books to students in the schools on the kick off date of the program.  Ideally, a member of the Community Champion would connect with each Elementary School and participate in the program at that school.
  3. The Community Champion would connect ADR with the greater community.  This would be to help identify stakeholders to support the program or community leaders to promote the program.
  4. Community Champions are asked to invest in their district’s program.
