Tired and ready to get off the highway the Gridley family decides to stay in an old run-down hotel in the California foothills on the 4^th of July weekend. Keith, their nine-year-old son, is delighted to have his own room and settles in with his toy vehicles by his bedside. A curious little mouse whose family lives in a knothole in the same room finds a very fine motorcycle, just his size. The fun begins when Keith allows Ralph to ride his red motorcycle. Ralph has many exciting and terrifying adventures as a result. A friendship develops, with Ralph’s concern for Keith showing bravery and selflessness. This is a holiday Keith and Ralph will never forget.
